Tickets have been purchased for departure on August 20th, 2014 The tickets are purchased and we are headed to Zambia! We felt that God was saying that it is time. So ready or not here we come! In all seriousness, this is a great step of faith for us because there are so many things that are not done and ready to go. The monthly support is currently standing at about sixty percent, but we feel lead to step out on faith. God will provide. We ask that you pray and ask God what part you could play in this mission. Our monthly pledges were at 42% with our last update and now they are at 58%!! We are so thankful and thrilled to see God providing but as you can see, we still have a way to go! Please let us know if you plan to partner with us! A special THANK YOU to all of our dear family in Christ that choose to join us in this mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus reaching out to the world! We are so thankful for you and your support! Many blessings to you! When we see your names come up when you donate or encourage us, it literally causes us to be in awe of the awesome power and love of God exhibited through each of you!  This ministry is starting in the seedling stage and as the Lord continues to rain down blessings and opportunities we can see the future of this ministry grow into a great fruit producing tree! One thing foresters are trained to do is to see the potential of a future harvest! “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore PRAY the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  Foresters prepare the soil, plant and fertilize then watch God's amazing work as a stand of trees grow and mature into beautiful thriving forests! DESSERT GATHERINGS Many folks have asked us about ways they could help TCM, well one way you can help is by hosting a dessert gathering. The idea is to invite a small group together for dessert one evening and allow us to share with them more details about Zambia and why we are going there. It gives others a chance to connect and ask questions in a comfortable, relaxing way. We will just visit and then spend about 15 to 20 minutes sharing about the mission. If you would be willing to host a small gathering and invite some friends over please contact Daniel or Jennifer so we can set it up! THE CARPENTERS MISSION (TCM) Having an organiza-tion like The Carpen-ters Mission is our way to answer the call God has placed on our life to join Him on mission in Zambia, Africa. TCM is a non-profit tax-deductible organization with the focus on partnering with local believers in Zambia to plant churches, train and disciple leaders and believers and to build the body of Christ. ****************************** WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW? We are currently in the deputation phase of the process. This means that we are going to churches, Sunday school classes, connection groups, family and friends to share about the mission and ask them to join us through prayer and financial support as the Lord leads. Things are getting really exciting as this journey looks to take a new turn, as our leadership board is praying about a summer 2014 departure and deployment of our family for two years in Africa!! This is what we have been working toward and we are so excited to take this next step! Sweet quiet time with my heavenly Father! I was lucky enough to take some time last weekend to go away to the mountains with some wonderful Christian ladies. We had so much fun! Lots of great food, shopping and laughing but best of all...quiet time with my Lord! It was so good for me. I had a prayer partner for the weekend and I asked her to pray for me about my frustration with my own mental struggles as we prepare to go to Zambia. Although, I often feel SO excited and sure of what God called us to there are other times when I feel completely defeated and overwhelmed. I feel afraid and unsure. It is very hard when I feel that way. I know, intellectually, that God is my strength and it is not about what I am but what He is. I want to rest in Him. The Lord really spoke to me and gave me such encouragement. The first thing I noticed is that I was singing a song in my mind without thinking about it. As I started to pay attention to the words, I realized God was speaking to me through it. The funny thing is that I do not own this song, really didn’t even know I knew of it! It is the amazing thing about faith and the thing that I SO wish for others to understand. How much Jesus loves us, and how He really does respond to our prayers.  After that, He showed me a scripture verse that spoke against my fears and comforted me.  You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are my servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:9-10. Again, exactly what I needed! So sweet and personal. So God!!! Lastly, He brought to mind a quote from ‘The Help’. It says: “You is kind, You is smart, You is important.” I want to say that to all of you that may take the time to read this. It is true! We are each loved by Jesus and we need to hear it….YOU is kind, YOU is smart, YOU is important!!!!!  Blessings to you sweet ones! JEN =) Tuesday, October 22, 2013 Exciting times! We have started receiving support in response to our letters and God is opening doors for us to share! I am so excited, it is hard to even express the joy of seeing this thing the Lord has led us in, moving forward. Praise be to Him!
